Edgestock is a benefit concert sponsored by the Edgemere-Sparrows Point Rec Council to raise money for recreation programs.

Community Cleanup

The annual cleanup was a total success, and Margie Grasser and her volunteers must be congratulated on an outstanding job. The cleanup was over at 9:30 am when the last of the 8 dumpsters (maximum allowed by Baltimore County) were full.

We had the largest volume of participants in the history of this event, but unfortunately, collected the least amount of money, $301. Many vehicles had to be turned away and for this we are extremely sorry. Mr. Grimes and his son collected 150 automobile tires for recycling. The boy scouts that were among the volunteers were extremely helpful, and we thank all who contributed in any way to this event including those who helped unload the cars/trucks and load the dumpsters: John Young, Russell Donnelly, Joseph Ciecwierz, Harry Wujek, Bill Roth, Margie Grasser, James Truskowski, Joshua Bernaggai, Thomas Lehner, Dylan Motta, Jacob Urtes, Zach Urtes, Glen Urtes, Tom Lehner, and David Motta.

Special thanks to Harry Wujek, Sr. and Island Graphics for the contribution of the “NPC volunteer” T-shirts donated to this event. The NPC volunteers can now be easily recognized when working in the community.

Mulching was to take place on June 20, 2008. However, the SHA saw fit to do it earlier and for that we thank them. The area looks fantastic with all of the trees and plants coming into bloom. Thank you once again to John Young and his son for their excellent attention to this particular project.
